Mark Ford is Branch Manager of Fort Knox Federal Credit Union in Bowling Green, Kentucky. “My largest career highlight was when I was given the opportunity to open the new FKFCU location in Bowling Green. The opportunity to build my team and successfully continue to grow our presence in a wonderful community has been a great blessing to me personally,” he says.

“I love working in the financial industry, offering members advice on how to manage their money better, helping them with a new car loan, or getting them on the right path to purchasing a new home.”

“My team is passionate each day about improving our members’ lives,” says Mark. “Our leaders are so supportive of our needs and are forward thinking to see opportunities and take on challenges before they arise.”

Mark believes that people who come to Fort Knox Federal Credit Union are surprised by how sincere the staff is in helping them improve their financial lives. He adds that FKFCU offers great rates on everything from CDs, to new and used car loans, to mortgages. “To us, our members are not just another number. We try to build great, long lasting relationships with our members.”

Mark feels that it is his responsibility and privilege to give back to the Bowling Green community. “Bowling Green has given so much to me personally- family, friends, and career.” He appreciates the way the people of Bowling Green come together to support local businesses, charities, and recreational and sporting events. “It is very rare that when you talk to someone about living in Bowling Green that they don’t say they love living here,” he says.

Mark spends his time coaching WCPR Youth softball and baseball, teaching Junior Achievement financial literacy, and participating as a board member for the Richardsville Volunteer Fire Department and Habitat for Humanity. He genuinely enjoys helping people and working for the community. He says that he would love to see a Financial Literacy School for the community. “As a lender I see the real challenges people go through daily. Many of them struggle because they don’t know how to manage their money.” He believes a Financial Literacy School would help with that.

Mark’s best advice for young adults just starting their careers is to have a plan. “It is so easy to get into debt, but it is extremely hard to get out of it. With a plan, you will be able to reach your financial goals and still have the things you need and want without struggling financially.”
