The Center For Accessible Living Hosts Open House to Re-Introduce The Agency to The Community

On October 28th, the Center for Accessible Living (CAL) hosted an open house event, wishing to re-introduce the agency to the community. The purpose of the open house was to showcase the agency to potential consumers and partners.

“We here at CAL wish to increase the awareness of the services that we offer,” says Lindsey Scott, the Manager of CAL. “The CAL mission is to empower all people to achieve their goal of independent living while involving the entire community.” They have five core services that their agency offers: Information and referral, IL Skills Training, Peer Support, Advocacy and Transitions.

One of the special projects they are highlighting is Project Going Home, funded by the Neilson Foundation. It is focused on people with spinal cord injuries/post-injury who need adaptations to their house quickly. It is a unique program for the BRADD Region as no other agencies offer this at no cost to the consumer. It can serve other areas outside of the region; check with your local CAL office to inquire.
