Creative Interiors has been in business for over thirty years. “Rhonda and Merle Harrod started the business with a vision to make the best ruffle curtains in Bowling Green, and the rest is history,” says Gina. Gina adds that from the beginning, Rhonda brought the talent and wisdom needed to expand into a retail business. “A small two and three person workroom turned into a fabric store that carries accessories, furniture, hardware, and a wealth of knowledge to help all clients with their projects.”

“We have three workrooms that have been with us for eighteen plus years. We make custom window treatments, pillows, valances, bedding, and headboards. We also offer motorized shades, blinds, and window treatments,” Gina says.

Gina attended high school and college in Bowling Green. “I was born in a small community of 2,500 people in Northern Illinois,” she says. Her family moved to Bowling Green when the Corvette plant opened. She says that she met the love of her life following college. “We have been married for thirty years. It has truly been an adventure and a blessing all at the same time.”

She says that working as a waitress while going to school helped her realize how much she loves people. She believes that everyone has their own personality and a story to tell. “If I had to sit behind a computer and do the same thing every day, I would go crazy,” she says. Gina says she played around with several different paths before discovering her calling, though. “As a young adult, I was trying different things to see what I would like to do for the rest of my life. I took a couple of classes to be a paralegal. I love to read and solve puzzles. It didn’t put me working people though, so I kept looking,” she says. “I started dating this amazing guy that just kept me laughing all the time. I knew he was the one. His mother just took me into the business, and we discovered that I have a talent for design. I had no idea.”

Gina says her business is unique because of all the services it provides. “We are definitely problem solvers,” she says. Whether it’s to arrange a room, choose the right colors to compliment the room, or find the perfect window treatment to fit an unusual window, Creative Interiors can do that for you.
